In the 1990s, Fendi was at the height of its creative power — with Karl Lagerfeld as creative director since 1965, the Roman house produced jewellery and accessory collections of unapologetic opulence, blending Italian goldsmithing expertise with decorative boldness. These clip-on earrings are the perfect expression of this: glossy black lacquered enamel, a faceted crystal set at the centre, framed by chiselled gold leaves — a luxurious and instantly recognisable composition. The secure clip mechanism is characteristic of couture jewellery from this period, designed to hold without piercings while offering the support of a post earring.
