A 1990s Yves Saint Laurent necklace · YSL monogram pendant and crystal-set heart, gold-plated · Parisian couture jewellery at its most expressive.
In the 1990s, Yves Saint Laurent established couture costume jewellery with a strong identity — visible logos, simulated precious materials, romantic or geometric shapes depending on the season. The YSL monogram, designed by Cassandre in 1961, became a central motif in the house's jewellery during this period: worn as a pendant, brooch or earrings, it signified belonging to a universe without needing any further justification. Paired here with a crystal-set heart, it combines the strength of the logo with a more romantic sensibility, characteristic of the accessory collections of that decade.
