Description
Bring a breeze of elsewhere and understated elegance to your home with the Mahila rug. Available in two distinct designs, Ikat and Pisa come straight from the Kandal province of Cambodia.
Its making takes significant time and patience: after harvesting and sorting the rushes, they must be dyed, dried, and hand-woven over two days. A truly organic piece, this rug gently evolves with time.
Its unique motifs are framed by small black fringes around the edges of the rug. The Mahila rug is meticulously handcrafted by women at home, on looms set up beneath the stilts of their houses. This home-based work allows them to express their creativity and craftsmanship.
