Description
La Mère, Marie Michielssen's first ceramic tableware line, is an affectionate ode to the (grand)mother figure and to women in general. The dinner service carries a subtle hint of nostalgia, whilst remaining innovative in many respects thanks to its vertical structure. Each shape is unique and hand-moulded. Every piece is finished with a glaze in off-white or a warm dark brown that verges on black. As a third, contrasting shade, Marie opted for a bold Venetian red. The designer also deliberately selected these tones to allow a mix and match of white and dark brown or red and dark brown.
