La Mère, the debut ceramic tableware collection by Marie Michielssen, is a warm tribute to the (grand)motherly figure and women in general. The tableware carries a nostalgic feel, yet remains remarkably innovative thanks to its vertical design. Every piece is unique and hand-moulded. Each item is finished with an off-white or warm dark brown, nearly black glaze. For a contrasting third colour, Marie chose a bold Venetian red. The designer intentionally picked these shades to allow mix-and-matching between white and dark brown or red and dark brown.
